A project to prepare and equip training and treatment halls

1- Project description:- The project consists of maintaining and rehabilitating the training, treatment and rehabilitation halls in the association’s centres, which include (the physical therapy hall, the occupational therapy hall, the speech and speech therapy hall, the sports hall, the life skills hall, the dining hall, the sensory halls, and the rehabilitation halls). The presence of these halls helps the child overcome many problems, such as cognitive and sensory problems. Difficulties in speech, movement, and learning daily skills through the child receiving the following treatments: 1- Physiotherapy hall Physical therapy is one of the important branches of medicine, through which trained specialists evaluate and treat physical dysfunction associated with an injury, disability, disease, or specific health condition. Sessions may help in treating other diseases as a form of auxiliary treatment. The physical therapy halls are equipped with modern devices. These devices contribute to treating children from many injuries, such as cerebral palsy and delayed growth, through sessions that the child receives from a physical therapist, which contributes significantly to improving the conditions of these children 2- Speech therapy hall Speech therapy begins with an assessment of the case by a speech pathologist to determine the type of communication disorder and the best way to treat it. It is coordinated in consideration of the child’s level of disability and his speech problem. The focus is also on the child’s swallowing abilities, the level of speech development and communication with those around him, and on behavior and speech disorders. Learning, problems with fluency of speech and expression, and other problems 3-Sports halls: Practicing sports for disabled children plays a major role in developing their motor skills in addition to developing a sense of belonging and participation in groups. It works to increase general awareness, cognitive aspects, and mental abilities. Sports also play a major role in helping people with disabilities to practice their daily lives like their normal peers, so they live a normal life with them to the maximum extent permitted by their abilities and social circumstances 4-Occupational therapy Occupational therapy is one of the supportive medical professions that is based on the evaluation and then treatment of daily life skills for people who suffer from physical, neurological, or cognitive problems, by developing their abilities and restoring them as they were before and preserving them from decline and deterioration. Occupational therapists are interested in focusing on Identifying and removing environmental barriers, which increases independence and participation in daily activities Occupational therapy interventions focus on modifying tasks, assessing skills, and educating the patient and his family in order to increase participation and manage daily activities. This program is supervised by an occupational therapist, whose work is based on developing the necessary motor skills. This is done by the following: evaluating fine movements in the upper part of the body, developing manual dexterity, developing motor-sensory synergy, developing daily life skills, and developing the child’s ability to Muscle control, training in the use of mobility aids,اّ 5- Sensory integration room: The sensory room is specially designed to include a group of stimulants to develop sensory skills and perception in children who suffer from high or low sensitivity. It enhances learning and play, addresses behavioral problems, improves balance and movement. It helps the child discover the different elements around him and interact without risks and reduces stress. The room contains On visual, audio, and other equipment for the senses of smell and touch 6- Behavior modification halls In this room, the child’s case is studied to find out the initial information about him, his condition is diagnosed by the psychologist, as well as the percentage and type of disability are measured by conducting some tests for the child and then preparing a report on the child’s condition. The child is then subjected to behavior modification programs with the aim of reducing the practice of these behaviors. The behavior modification hall contains tools that help the psychologist evaluate and diagnose the child’s condition. Behavior modification aims to improve the individual’s personal matters while supporting and developing his own skills and abilities. 7- Learning resource halls ( Training children with disabilities on various educational technology means, such as computers and their various programs, educational television, video, cassette recorder, data display device, iPad, and others, has contributed to many positives that accrue to them, whether in terms of Psychological, academic, social or economic. Using educational means, such as computers, for example, has a major role in reducing stress. There are many entertaining programs and beautiful games available that bring joy and happiness to the souls of these children, and thus greatly reduce their stress and psychological anxiety, and thus this method is used as a positive reinforcement in modifying their behavior. These halls contain computers, a display screen, and a smart board. Educational and technological means play an important role in exciting students with disabilities and increasing their motivation and interest in learning. They also play an important role in addressing individual differences among students with disabilities. The methods and methods of education vary to suit the abilities of each of them 8- Life skills hall Self-care skills: express the child’s ability to care for himself independently within the limits permitted by his abilities. He can be trained in some skills to develop his self-care aspect, including: taking care of his personal hygiene, distinguishing between summer and winter clothes, setting the table without assistance, naming cutlery, Training in food preparation, bed making, and unaided shopping skills. Social skills: They express the child’s ability to establish good relationships with his colleagues, supervisors, and family members. He can be trained in some social skills to develop them, including: listening attentively to instructions and implementing them, listening to others, and behaving politely using some phrases such as: (please - thank you) Communication skills: express the ability of an intellectually disabled child to express himself and use language in different social situations.. 9- Dining halls In the dining halls, children are taught table manners and are introduced to tableware and how to use them, as well as preparing snacks so that they are able to rely on themselves in the absence of parents, which contributes to strengthening the child’s self-confidence, as well as the etiquette of eating in public places..
